I dont know the model number so is there a generic element for all GE Spectras. We need your model number to find the correct bake element for your range. If there is a drawer on the bottom you can pull it out and usually the model number is located.
This happened to me last night with the GE Spectra. Preheating oven and as others have explained loud pop flame Sparks and wouldnt go out. Turned off circuit breakers still burned.
Finally went out after unplugging. Agree a recall is needed. Cant decide to replace heating element or replace stove.
